Both the men’s and the women’s tennis teams are 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Teams, given to programs that have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Additionally, recent graduates Richard Blumenfeld, Jacqueline Corba and Meg Tyner, rising seniors Leonardo Lapentti, Alexander van Gils and Mimi Hamling and rising junior Ulrik Thomsen are ITA Scholar-Athletes. The individual awards are given to student-athletes that are varsity letter winners, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and have been enrolled at their university for two semesters.

The men’s tennis team was named the University’s men’s academic team of the year in May, and saw multiple student-athletes named to both GW’s Athletics Academic Dean’s List and the 2012 A-10 Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

The women’s tennis team saw 10 members named to the athletics department dean’s list and Tyner and Hamling were named to the  2012 A-10 Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Both teams also received NCAA APR awards at the conclusion of the season.
