Employee arrested for alleged threats

Christopher Brant Andrews

Updated: July 18, 2012, 9:57 p.m.

A facilities employee was arrested and barred from campus Tuesday for allegedly threatening others.

Christopher Brant Andrews allegedly made “threats to harm members of the university community,” according to a GW Alert sent out Wednesday.

University spokeswoman Candace Smith said the verbal threats were not directed toward specific people, adding that the Metropolitan Police Department was notified after the University became aware of the alleged threats.

“He is no longer employed at the university,” Smith said in an email, noting that he was hired in 2006 as a plumber.

Andrews, 45, is described as a 220 to 230-pound man who stands at about 6-foot-1.
