The first recruit of the Jonathan Tsipis era committed to the women’s basketball team this week, Bret McCormick, the managing partner and publisher of All-Star Girls Report, tweeted.
Caira Washington, a 6-foot-3 center from Georgetown Day School, is the first 2013-14 recruit to commit to the Colonials, and the first under new head coach Jonathan Tsipis.
Washington has a scouts grade of 87 from ESPN, which also lists the Arlington, Va. native as an undeclared three-star recruit.
ESPN’s scouting report calls Washington an athletic player who can “run the floor extremely well,” score in the paint and defend well but one who “needs to further develop offensive skill set.”
