Incoming men’s basketball recruit Joe McDonald is a member of the 2012 PARADE All-America Basketball Team, the magazine’s 56th annual ranking of outstanding high school players.

McDonald signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Colonials next season April 11. The 6-foot-1, 190 pound point guard from Lorton, Va. was also a member of The Washington Post’s 2012 All-Met boy’s basketball first team. He averaged 22.7 points and 10.9 rebounds this season for the Landon School in Bethesda, Md.

McDonald is a member of the five-man 2012 recruiting class for GW and will be joining Kethan Savage, Patricio Garino, Kyprianos Maragakos and Kevin Larsen on the court next season. The five will be accompanied by Villanova transfer Isaiah Armwood, another new face in a Colonials uniform for the upcoming season.
