Whether you’re in the mood to be charitable or self-indulgently entertained, these weekend events will give you what you’re looking for:

Thursday:
Do good in your own neighborhood by participating in Dining Out For Life, a fundraising event that donates proceeds to AIDS research. Participating restaurants include Whole Foods Market – Foggy Bottom and Tonic at Quigley’s Pharmacy, as well as more than 100 others.

Friday:
See “Saturday Night Live” alumnus and “Mean Girls” star Tim Meadows perform stand-up comedy at the Arlington Cinema ‘n’ Drafthouse. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $26.

Saturday:
Sweetlife Food and Music Festival kicks off Saturday at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, offering delicious eats from the likes of Jose Andres’ Pepe Truck and Shake Shack, as well as live performances by Avicii, Kid Cudi, The Shins, and more. Tickets are $75.
