Incoming recruit Joe McDonald signed his National Letter of Intent today, after verbally committing to the men’s basketball program in January.

McDonald is the fourth recruit to sign a letter of intent to join the Colonials next season, after Kethan Savage, Patricio Garino and Kyprianos “Paris” Maragkos all committed in November. The four will be joined by Villanova transfer Isaiah Armwood as new additions to GW’s roster next season.

“Great to have Joe McDonald on board at GW! Look forward to helping him, Kethan, Patricio, Paris & the entire team reach their potential!” men’s basketball head coach Mike Lonergan tweeted.

McDonald, a 6-foot-1, 190 pound point guard from Lorton, Va., is a member of The Washington Post’s 2012 All-Met boy’s basketball first team. He averaged 22.7 points and 10.9 rebounds this season for the Landon School in Bethesda, Md.

The men’s basketball program could potentially see one more recruit added to the roster following the announced departure of sophomore guard Dan Guest. Lonergan said incoming additions to the Colonials will figure heavily into his strategy for next season.
