My, haven’t we been spoiled this winter! The weather has been far from harsh, and it’s clear from GW students’ outfits that spring is in the back of everyone’s mind. We started to see a slight shift from winter blacks and grays to more natural, warmer colors this week. Here are a few examples:

Zoelle Dizon. Shannon Brown | Hatchet Photographer

Name: Zoelle Dizon
Year: 2014
Major: Biology
From: New Jersey
Clothing: Coat, Forever 21; boots, Aldo; bag, Michael Kors; jeans, Express

In spirit of the blue skies, sophomore Zoelle Dizon chose an oatmeal-colored wool coat from Forever 21 to lighten up her look. The brown leather of her boots complements the coat’s buttons and pulls the look together effortlessly. We loved how Zoelle kept winter’s edge in mind with her selection of a Michaels Kors bag in black leather.

Hyun Sun Lee. Shannon Brown | Hatchet Photographer

Name: Hyun Sun Lee
Year: 2014
Major: Political Science
From: Korea
Clothing: Shoes, Japan; jacket, Korea; bag, Chanel; wallet, Louis Vuitton

Sophomore Hyun Sun Lee, who goes by the name Sunny, looked effortlessly chic in pointed-toe nude heels on her Starbucks run. While many of the items she was wearing were purchased outside the U.S., we absolutely loved the light blue textured jacket Sunny bought back home in Korea. Her black, quilted leather Chanel bag provided the same edge as Dizon’s Michael Kors bag, while the red leather of her Louis Vuitton wallet added a fun pop to the predominately neutral-toned look. A similar pop of color can be worked into an outfit with a bold scarf, necklace or a vibrant lipstick.
