The University has planned a memorial service for the law and business school student who died last month.

The service for 28-year-old Benjamin Gupta, who died in his sleep Dec. 19, will be held Jan. 30 at 4:30 p.m. in Betts Theatre.

The autopsy to determine Gupta’s cause of death is ongoing.

The JD and MBA candidate worked as a partnership coordinator for the Global Partnership Initiative – a State Department program that links public and private groups to collaborate on diaspora, economic, health and sustainability-related projects.

Gupta’s family hosted a memorial service Dec. 22, the day after Gupta’s death, at a funeral home in the District.

This post has been updated Jan. 30, 2012 to reflect the following: The Hatchet incorrectly reported the date of Benjamin Gupta’s death as Dec. 21, 2011. It was Dec. 19.
