It’s Monday…

The first week back from Thanksgiving break can be a major reality check, and we all need a little pick-me-up. Try some of these events to keep your mind off your workload.

  • The National Theatre. Photo used under the Creative Commons License.

The National Theatre will host a showing of “The Man Who Came to Dinner” at 6:30 p.m. tonight to start a three-film holiday cinema series. Tickets are free.

  • Check out Couch Night at Black Cat, featuring DJs Tariq and Soul Call Paul. The event starts at 8 p.m.
  • The University Club of Washington is hosting its 22nd annual “Meet the Author Night and Book Fair” Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Guest writers join readers at the event to discuss, sign and sell their work. Wednesday’s fair will include poet Sandra Beasley and former Secretary of State William S. Cohen. Admission is free.

And here are some words of caution for all you moviegoers:
There have been reports that the new “Twilight” movie may cause seizures for some viewers.
