The Colonials men’s basketball season will open with a tailgate hosted by the Colonial Army on 22nd Street between G and F streets.

The tailgate will start at 4 p.m. on Nov. 11, before GW’s match-up against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, which starts at 7 p.m. Student groups will perform at the event, accompanied by games, contests, prizes and free food. Colonial Army is joining with Class Council, the Residence Hall Association, WRGW District Radio, Program Board and the Student Association to host the tailgate.

The 2011 to 2012 season will officially begin a week before the tailgate, when the Colonials host Bowie State for an exhibition match Nov. 6.
