Women’s basketball loses recruiting coordinator

The recruiting coordinator and assistant coach for the women’s basketball program is leaving GW for a top position at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Kristeena Alexander will be the assistant coach for UNC-Greensboro women’s basketball program, the first hire for Spartan head coach Wendy Palmer.

Alexander worked with the Colonials for three seasons, assisting with scouting and player development.

As a Colonial, Alexander averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 assists and 2.6 steals in 83 games during her three seasons as a point guard. Alexander was named Atlantic 10 Sixth Player of the Year and third team All-Conference as a junior in 2000 and second team All-Atlantic 10 as a senior in 2001, concluding her collegiate career with 1,187 points, 467 assists and 306 rebounds.
