A male student reported to University Police that he was robbed while walking back to campus from Georgetown Sunday evening.
The student reported that two individuals took his cell phone and “punched him in the side and the face before walking off with a large group of individuals,” according to a Crime Alert released early Monday morning.
The incident allegedly happened around 10 p.m. at 25th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, where the student said subjects had demanded money from him. When the student refused to fork over his cash and took out his cell phone to call 911, he was attacked, according to the alert.
Both subjects in the case were described by UPD as “black males, 18- to 22-years-old with short hair, who were wearing dark clothing.”
The Crime Alert noted that the robbery was reported to UPD at the Mount Vernon Campus at 11 p.m.
