SMPA professor named one of top 10 most interesting people in D.C.

School of Media and Public Affairs professor Steven Roberts was named one of the top 10 most interesting people in the Washington D.C. metro area by D.C. Spotlight Magazine.

Roberts – who is married to journalist Cokie Roberts –  is No. 4 on the list for “being on the right side of the immigration debate.”

“What I’ve tried to do is help people understand their world,” Roberts said in the article. “I don’t sit in the classroom and tell the students what to think, I tell them how to think.”

Others on the list include Maryland State Senator Jennie Forehand, first lady of Maryland Frances Hughes Glendening, University of Maryland men’s basketball coach Gary Williams, and Tim Shriver, president of the Special Olympics and son of Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
