What we’re listening to: Hatchet arts music picks

Hatchet reporter Emily Katz shares her latest musical obsessions.

This is easily my favorite song right now, and no one – most of all myself- is comfortable with it. But, this song is infectiously catchy, whiny vocals and all. Watch the video if you want the pleasure of seeing Selena Gomez sing while in a heated car chase.

I just got this CD a few days ago in preparation for their Black Cat show in November, and this is one of my favorite songs off of it. I really like the obscure percussion in the background–it sounds like something in the vein as a xylophone, maybe? It’s also got a really cool 60s sound.

This was one of my favorite CDs of the summer, and I’m sad to stop listening to it incessantly as fall creeps upon us. This song isn’t necessarily one of my favorites from the album; however, it certainly describes my attitude as I begrudgingly trade in tabloids for textbooks.
