Featuring Yoga on the Mall

May 15, 1 to 5 p.m. Put the stress of Commencement behind you and sink into a downward-facing dog pose against the backdrop of the Washington Monument. Enjoy a free outdoor yoga class at the southwest corner of 15th Street and Constitution Avenue – but don’t forget to bring your mat!

Blue Angels Air Show

Andrews Air Force Base

May 15-16, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Joint Service Open House will feature an aerial show with the Blue Angels and the Golden Knights. Admission is free and shuttles will run from the Branch Avenue Metro Station. Visit www.jsoh.org for more information.

80s Alt-Pop Dance Night

The Black Cat

May 15, 9:30 p.m. Enjoy a throwback to the 1980s during a dance night at the Black Cat. Doors open at 9:30 p.m.

Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing: How the Apollo Theater Shaped American Entertainment

National Museum of American History

This traveling exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History showcases James Brown’s cape and jumpsuit and Michael Jackson’s fedora as part of an exhibition about Harlem’s historic theater. Admission is free.

The Newseum

D.C.’s museum devoted to journalism and media is a must-see. Current exhibits include “First Dogs: Presidential Pets in the White House” and “Elvis! His Groundbreaking, Hip-Shaking, Newsmaking Story.” Admission is $19.95. It’s located next to the Canadian Embassy with an amazing view of the U.S. Capitol.
