GW Law School jumps eight spots in U.S. News rankings

GW Law School was ranked 20th in the country in the 2010 U.S. News and World Report rankings of the best graduate schools in the U.S., which were released late Wednesday night.

After dropping eight spots to number 28 last year, GW regained its place in the top 20, finding itself in the company of schools like cross-town rival Georgetown University, ranked 14th, and others like the University of California Los Angeles, 15th, and the University of Virginia, 10th.

Boston University, which held the 20th spot last year, fell to 22, according to the rankings.

GW law professor Jonathan Turley posted on his blog that the rise in rankings is a success for the school after “last year’s disaster.
