Women’s lacrosse loses late

The GW women’s lacrosse team dropped its second straight game Wednesday night, falling 9-7 on the road at George Mason.

The Colonials (1-2) led throughout the game, outscoring the Patriots 3-1 in the first 10 minutes of the game and 6-2 in the first half. Mason found its offense in the second half, outscoring GW 7-1 after halftime, including five straight goals to close out the game and wrest the lead from the Colonials.

GW sophomore Megan Seidman led the Colonials offensively with four goals. Sophomore Sarah Phillips, senior Taylor Donohue and freshman Hannah McLaughlin each had a single goal to round out the scorers for GW.

GW is in action again this Sunday when they will face off against Virginia Tech at 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon Field.
