The Hatchet’s editorial board welcomes the establishment of the first community college in our nations capital.
Last week, the Community College of the District of Columbia opened its doors for the first time. Although still located on the UDC campus, the community college has ambitions to expand to its own location and establish itself as a major presence amongst two-year institutions in the metro area. This is a great development for the District, where a third of the city’s jobs require some education beyond high school, according to the Brookings Institute.
