Small gas leak forces evacuation of Fulbright Hall

A suspected gas leak inside Fulbright Hall forced an evacuation of the building Wednesday morning, according to D.C. Fire personnel.

Two fire trucks arrived at the scene shortly after 11 a.m., and firefighters found a small gas leak on the outside of the building.

The portion of H Street was closed between 22nd and 23rd Streets while the situation was being handled.

“It was a pretty minor incident, with no significant danger,” said D.C. Fire Public Information Officer Pete Piringer, adding that an area gas company was called to resolve the issue.
