No I.D.? No problem!

While it may be a few years before you can hit up the bars without using your cousin’s old ID, being underage in D.C. won’t put a damper on your social life. The Hatchet asked several GW students about some of the best hotspots and attractions in the city, and where they liked to go when they were freshmen. Their answers prove there is always something to do in the District.

“Walking around the waterfront [in Georgetown], especially in the fall when all the yachts are out.”
Devlin Prince, senior

The zoo was really fun.”
Rachel Snyder, graduate ’09

“They have a jazz club at the Smithsonian, and they get really good acts. It tends to be an older crowd, so bring friends.”
Ashley Puskas, graduate ’09

“Going over to the Kennedy Center for the free shows. A lot of the clubs are 18 and over, too.”
Laura Wittig, graduate ’09

“Music venues like the 9:30 club and the Black Cat are fun.”
Megan Vijiarungam, senior

Kramerbooks and Busboys and Poets are great spots. They have a good ambiance and are really laid back.”
Kiran Sarabu, senior

“I went to see a couple of [Capitals] hockey games.”
Tobin Van Ostern, graduate ’09
