Tickets are still available for Monumental Celebration – an annual cocktail gala for GW graduates and their families held at Union Station on the eve of Commencement.
University spokeswoman Tracy Schario said it is “not unusual” that tickets will still be available up until the event begins at 8:30 p.m. on May 16. Last year, more than 2,000 students, family and friends attended the event.
“Monumental Celebration is an absolutely wonderful time to congregate with family and friends in one of the City’s most historic buildings,” Schario said.
She added, “The event is designed for folks of all ages and we hope that people come and have the opportunity to mingle with their classmates and administrators and board members, as well as whoever else attends before the final hurrah on Sunday.”
The event will include live music, dancing, a dessert buffet and other entertainment including caricature and balloon artists.
Guests will dance to live music from local band Gholston’s Greatest and a jazz ensemble.
Tickets for Monumental Celebration are $45 for seniors and $55 for friends and family.
