Former GW basketball great Pops Mensah-Bonsu signed a 10-day contract with the National Basketball Association’s San Antonio Spurs, the team announced Wednesday.
Mensah-Bonsu was on the bench last night as the Spurs beat the Portland Trail Blazers 99-84 in San Antonio, though he did not play.
Before signing with the Spurs, Mensah-Bonsu played for the Austin Toros of the NBA’s Developmental League, where he averaged 26.6 points and 13 rebounds in eight games. Before that, the 6-foot-9 forward played in Spain.
