Officials name senior vice president, chief of staff

Varsity Roundup: Baseball, Gymnastics, Women’s water polo, Women’s Lacrosse

Baseball

The baseball team started its season with four losses, two to Eastern Michigan and two to Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C. Junior Sean Rockey went 3-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs to lead the Colonials during their 10-5 loss Saturday to Eastern Michigan.

GW has its home opener Feb. 28 against Lehigh.

Gymnastics

The gymnastics team defeated the College of William & Mary 195.250-190.400 Sunday at the Smith Center, bringing the Colonials’ record to 10-5 on the season.

Women’s water polo

The women’s water polo team (0-3) lost 11-5 to Wagner and 10-8 to Marist Saturday at the Princeton Invitational. Results from the team’s games Sunday against Harvard and Villanova were unavailable.

Women’s lacrosse

The women’s lacrosse team (0-2) lost 17-2 to No. 9 Georgetown Saturday at Georgetown. The Colonials host American Wednesday at 3 p.m.
