Baseball swept by Xavier, will not make playoffs

We weren’t able to get this in today’s paper, but the GW baseball team was swept this weekend by Xavier. The Colonials likely needed to take all three games from the Musketeers, but were overcome in the final inning of game 1 and thus were eliminated from playoff discussion.

GW finishes the season at 26-29 and 11-16 in conference. A likely candidate for all-conference is outfielder Charlie Kruer, who will be entering the amateur baseball draft. Pitcher Eric Cantrell could end up on the all-rookie team.
