SEAS students win national competition

Two GW graduate students from the School of Engineering and Applied Science received first place honors this weekend at a national competition sponsored by Microsoft.

Mark Aoyama and Martin Smith beat out 20 teams with their game, Ecoism, in the Microsoft Imagine Cup – an international competition that emphasizes the role of technology in producing a sustainable environment.

The duo, Team Ligersoft, also took home $5,000 and will be able to present their game at the Penny Arcade Expo this year, according to Joanne Walsh, a SEAS spokesperson.
