GW Brief: University offers free tickets to GW game at Nationals Park

The University will give out 200 free student tickets to see the GW men’s baseball team play the inaugural game in the brand-new Nationals Park.

The Washington Nationals provided GW with 1,500 tickets to the game against Saint Joseph’s University on March 22. The remaining tickets will be allocated to parents of players, donors and friends of the University.

Tickets will not be sold to the general public, as the GW game is a test-run for stadium operations before they host their first professional game at the 41,000-capacity venue on March 29.

On March 12, students can pick up a free ticket at Smith Center’s box office between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A valid GWorld card is needed per ticket and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The University will also compile a waitlist, and requests should be sent to [email protected].

Even though the game will take place over spring break, University spokesperson Tracy Schario said she expects “tremendous interest from students, as well as the entire GW community.”
