$5 – $10 – $20: An entertainment guide for the cash-strapped college student

If you have $5

Use it to buy a beer at the Black Cat (1811 14th St. N.W.) for their annual Valentine’s Day Rock and Roll Dance Pary. There’s no cover, and you can dance your pretty little butt off with the love of your life to some of the best sounds of rockabilly, blues, boogie woogie and R&B tunes.

If you have $10

If you only have $10 to your name, chances are you probably don’t have a Valentine this year – might as well splurge on yourself then, right? Pan-handle $4 more and head over to Pizza Paradiso (3282 M St. N.W.) in Georgetown, where they’re offering anyone dining alone on Valentine’s Day a special pizza and any beer for only $14.

If you have $20

What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than with Art Garfunkel and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra? Performing live tonight (Thursday) at the Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda, Md. (5301 Tuckerman Ln.). He’ll be playing both new songs and classic hits from the Simon & Garfunkel days. Tickets start at $21. For more information, visit www.strathmore.org.
