The GW Jazz department is hosting its twice-annual Jazz Festival at H.R. 57 Club (1610 14th St. N.W.) on, Nov. 18th at 7:00pm. The concert will feature several GW Jazz ensembles, including the small jazz group “Uber Combo,” the GW Latin Jazz ensemble “Los Gringos,” as well as the student group “Hello Society.” The club has a policy of “BYOB” (bring your own beer), so bring over a six-pack and enjoy some great student music.

If you have $10

Take the Metro over to Clarendon to see Exit Clov play at Iota (2832 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington, Va., 21+). The band made up of GW alums, just got back from touring all around the country and is currently in the studio working on their new full-length album with Devin Ocampo and Chad Clark (Dismemberment Plan, Georgie James, Mary Timony). If you have $20

GW Lisner Auditorium (21st and H St. N.W.) presents “The Conga Kings: Candido Camero, Carlos ‘Patato’ Valdes and Giovanni Hidalgo” on, Nov. 16. For $15, GW students can see an amazing 11-piece rumba group featuring congueros of Afro-Cuban music. The concert celebrates modern rhythm and melody, jazz and Afro-Cuban sounds by the likes of Machito, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente and more.
