Assault

10/14/07 – The Dakota – 3:08 a.m. – case closed

A male student reported he was asleep when his roommate entered the room and began punching him. University Police Department officers arrived on the scene, and the complainant said he wanted to press assault charges against his intoxicated roommate. The Metropolitan Police Department arrived to review the case, but they did not issue a report. The subject was assessed for his medical condition and then sent to GW Hospital for treatment.

Destruction

10/12/07 – International House – 1:50 a.m. – case closed

A fire extinguisher on the seventh floor was taken from its case and intentionally activated, setting off a false fire alarm and forcing the building’s evacuation.

Disorderly Conduct

10/12/07 – Gelman Library – 2:07 a.m. – case closed

UPD officers responded to a report of a drunk male student in the lobby of the library. The individual was assessed, and EMeRG was contacted. The student, who was of age, was taken to GW Hospital for further treatment.

Drug Law Violation

10/13/07 – Guthridge Hall – 2:28 a.m.- case closed

UPD responded to a complaint of a suspicious odor, and upon entering the room contacted the community director to perform an administrative search. Alcohol and 1.4 grams of marijuana were confiscated. The six individuals in the room – five males, one female – were all underage. The female was unaffiliated with GW and was barred from campus.

Liquor Law Violation

10/13/07 – 2300 Block of G Street – 11:55 p.m. – case closed

UPD officers observed an underage male individual in the driver’s seat of a vehicle drinking the alcohol with the engine running. Officers stopped the man and identified him. There were seven other individuals in the car at the time, and one was a current GW student who was not drinking. MPD was contacted and the subject was arrested for possession of an open container.

10/13/07 – Lafayette Hall – 11:40 p.m. – case closed

UPD officers responded to a call about an individual drinking in the hallway. The individual was assessed, and the room containing the alcohol was identified. Fourteen people were found in the room, all underage. No one needed medical attention, and the alcohol was disposed of on the scene.

Threats

10/14/07 – Merriweather Hall – 9:25 p.m. – case closed

Two female roommates had an argument, and one claimed the other verbally threatened her. The complainant could not specifically tell UPD officers what the other roommate had threatened to do, and the two students were separated for the evening. The case was forwarded to GW Housing Programs.
