What’s on our iPod: Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid Michaelson is one of a growing number of singer/songwriters quickly gaining popularity with the help of MySpace. The self-proclaimed indie/pop/folk rocker is currently on tour promoting her sophomore album “Boys And Girls,” a compilation of sweet, poppy and introspective tunes.

If you like artists such as Regina Spektor, Corinne Bailey Rae or Rachael Yamagata, you will probably like Ingrid Michaelson. “Die Alone,” an upbeat song fueled by electric guitar, contrasts nicely to the lighter vocals and piano on tracks like “Breakable.” Feature song “The Way I Am” is a jazzy number, which includes drums and clapping.

If you’re a fan of “Grey’s Anatomy,” you may already know the song “Keep Breathing,” a whispery blend of piano, acoustic guitar, and vocals included on the show’s season three soundtrack.
