Assault

9/29/07 – 23rd Street – 12:15 a.m. – case closed

A male unaffiliated with GW was walking on the sidewalk when he was assaulted by three unidentified males. He stated the assailants verbally abused, pushed and kicked him. When one of the assailants twisted his ankle because of the violent kicking, the other two helped him flee the scene. The complainant then filed a report with the University Police Department and the Metropolitan Police Department.

Disorderly Conduct

9/29/07 – 23rd and H streets – 3:06 a.m. – case closed

UPD was dispatched because of a report of an intoxicated person. Officers made contact with the subject, a male GW student, who said he just broke up with his girlfriend and drank alcohol at a local nightclub. The individual was of age and consented to a field sobriety test.
Referred to Student Judicial Services

9/29/07 – Mitchell Hall – 11:05 p.m. – case closed

UPD received a call about disorderly conduct at the 7-Eleven underneath Mitchell Hall. A staff member said the unknown subject walked out of the store yelling at the staff. The subject was not at the scene when UPD arrived.
No identifiable suspects

Drug Law Violation

9/30/07 – Thurston Hall – 2:56 a.m. – case closed

UPD officers on patrol smelled a suspicious odor coming from a room. Officers knocked on the door, and one of the occupants answered. UPD did a sweep of the room, and the community director was contacted, who then performed an administrative search. A Ziploc bag containing a marijuana-like substance was found along with other drug paraphernalia. The substance tested positive for marijuana, and a total of 8.1 grams was confiscated. There were four people in the room, three of whom were GW students referred to SJS. The other person, a guest, was escorted out of the building.

Liquor Law Violation

9/29/07 – West End – 11:30 p.m. – case closed

UPD was called for a noise complaint in the residence hall. When UPD officers arrived, they heard loud music playing. When several people left the room, the officers made contact with the occupants. There were 17 people in the room, with alcohol in plain view. Three of the individuals were of age, and two were unaffiliated with the University. Fifteen students were referred to SJS.

Theft

9/29/07 – Building AA and Rice Hall – 2:52 a.m. – case closed

A cab driver reported that two male passengers ran off without paying their fare. A UPD van driver observed one of the individuals crouching in the alleyway between Building AA and Rice Hall. The officer stopped the individual, and the cab driver said he would not press charges if he paid the fare. The subject, unaffiliated with GW, paid the fare and apologized to the cab driver.
