Bell-Krasner to seek CCAS-U Senate seat

Senior Elliot Bell-Krasner will apply for the the CCAS-U Senate seat vacated by Nina Pedrad, according to a news release.

Bell-Krasner will have to submit his name to the SA Senate Rules Committee, chaired by junior Kevin Kozlowski (U-at-Large). The committee will then submit a recommendation to the entire Senate for a vote.

Pedrad resigned from the Senate on Tuesday and withdrew from the University on Thursday citing personal reasons.

“Serving as a senator is a privilege that requires a great deal of time and energy and I wouldn’t be seeking it if I didn’t feel that I could,” said Bell-Krasner in a news release.

Bell-Krasner ran unsuccessfully for SA executive vice president last year and served as director of transfer student affairs two years ago.

With the recent resignations of Pedrad and junior Richard Fowler, the Senate now has eight vacant seats. Bell-Krasner is the first to publicly declare his intention to seek the CCAS-U seat.
