Student Association Executive Vice President-elect Brand Kroeger told The Hatchet Tuesday afternoon that he is not planning to give up his current vice chairmanship of the GW College Republicans for next year.
Kroeger, who will be running unopposed for the vice chair of the CR’s, said that being the second highest officer in the CR’s will not be a conflict of interest with his role in the SA and he “will remain impartial” towards the CR’s.
“It is important to me that students realize the SA is my top priority,” said Kroeger, a sophomore. “Anyone who knows me knows that I will be fighting for all student organizations, not just the CR’s”
Kroeger said his decision came only after consulting with current SA EVP Josh Lasky, President-elect Nicole Capp, and CR Executive Director Chris Brooks, who Kroeger will be supporting for CR chair in the CR executive board elections this Wednesday evening.
“My role with the CR’s next year will be an advisory role,” Kroeger said. “The SA will take precedence.”
Kroeger said that as vice chair, he does not have access to the CR financial process. As SA EVP, Kroeger said he will not give special preference to the CR’s in any allocations from his SA budget.
