Thorpe vetoes NORML resolution

Student Association President Lamar Thorpe, a senior, vetoed Senate Resolution S07-04, “A resolution to support Cannabis-Alcohol sanction equalization (CASE),” Tuesday night.

The resolution, which was submitted by the GW chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws and passed by the SA Senate last week, is the first piece of legislation that Thorpe has vetoed while in office.

The resolution called for sanctions imposed for marijuana use be less than or equal to alcohol violations.
