Simple Assault

12/03/06 – 600 block of 23rd Street – 3:43 a.m. – closed
Five male students were walking together when an unknown male, unaffiliated with GW, asked the group for directions. However, the man did not know where he wanted to go. The group proceeded, and the subject followed. He struck one of the students on the back of the leg. The student turned around, and the unknown male hit him with an open palm. Several witnesses broke up the fight. When officers arrived on scene, they barred the unaffiliated male from campus. The student declined to press charges.

Disorderly Conduct

12/02/06 – 2100 block of H Street – 3:00 a.m. – closed
University Police officers heard loud voices while on patrol. They noticed an officer with the U.S. Secret Service’s Uniformed Division dealing with an individual unaffiliated with GW. The Secret Service officer released the individual.
No further action

Harassment

12/03/06 – Mitchell Hall – Time unknown – closed
A female student in Mitchell reported that two other students had been harassing her periodically since October. UPD contacted Housing Programs staff and requested they resolve the issue between the three individuals who know each other.

Liquor Law Violation

12/03/06 – Mount Vernon Campus – 2:37 a.m. – closed
UPD responded to a call about a sick student on the Vern Express shuttle headed toward the Mount Vernon Campus. Officers met the bus at the clock tower and determined the individual, who vomited on the floor, was unaffiliated with GW. He was with two other individuals, one male student and one female unaffiliated with GW. He told officers he was staying with a Mount Vernon resident.

12/03/06 – Hensley Hall (Mount Vernon Campus) – 12:57 a.m. – closed
A UPD officer was on patrol and heard loud noises coming from a room. The officer found eight underage students in the room with alcohol. The officers disposed of the alcohol and assessed the students’ conditions. No further medical treatment was needed.

12/02/06 – Dakota Apartments – 2:00 a.m. – closed
Two concerned individuals notified UPD about a male in a room who was not answering the door. When UPD entered the room, they found the male lying on the floor. Officers had a difficult time getting the male to respond. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services was contacted because EMeRG was on another call. The student was transported to the GW Hospital for further medical treatment.

12/02/06 – Thurston Hall – 1:45 a.m. – closed
UPD responded to a call about an intoxicated student at Thurston who had difficulty swiping her card. Officers assessed her condition and contacted EMeRG. She was transported to GW Hospital for further medical treatment.
