Men’s Soccer

The men’s soccer team posted a 3-3 tie Friday afternoon at Fordham in overtime before dropping a 2-1 decision at St. Bonaventure on Sunday. Senior Joseph Siegel tallied three goals over the weekend, two against the Rams and one against the Bonnies. Junior Thomas Stuber added a goal and an assist against Fordham. The Colonials (4-7-2, 1-3-1 A-10) host Dayton and Xavier next weekend.

Volleyball

The women’s volleyball team split matches in Philadelphia over the weekend with a 3-1 loss to Temple Friday followed by a 3-0 win over La Salle Saturday. Junior Janine Brown led the Colonials (9-10, 3-5 A-10) with 16 points and 13 kills against Temple (30-19, 30-24, 28-30, 30-21) while senior Juliene McLaughlin had a team-high 11 digs against La Salle (30-24, 30-21, 30-25).

Water Polo

The men’s water polo team won its first Collegiate Water Polo Association in 17 match-ups with a 7-6 victory over No. 17 Bucknell Saturday night. The Colonials (11-11, 1-7 CWPA Southern Division) dropped a 17-6 loss to No. 15 Princeton Sunday afternoon. The squad will take a two-week hiatus before traveling to the CWPA Southern Championship Oct. 28 in Lewisburg, Pa.

Cross Country

The women’s cross country team medaled at the Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh, the squad’s first team victory of the season. The men placed fourth at the same event, with junior Joe Altenau leading the squad with a 13th place finish. Senior Daniel Morgan was next in 17th place.

Swimming

The men’s and women’s swimming squads took third place in a quad meet at Loyola Saturday. Sophomore David Zenk won three individual events while freshman Emily Leik also won one event. A day earlier, the men took first place honors for the third consecutive year while the women placed sixth at the Potomac Relays at American University.
