WEB EXTRA: Pinnock to stay in draft, sign with agent

GW men’s basketball coach Karl Hobbs always remarks that his greatest professional joy is seeing his players graduate college. Junior Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock decided to not give Hobbs that pleasure.

Pinnock announced that he will sign with an agent and remain in the NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-6 swingman will sign with Daniel Servick, an agent affiliated with Pro One Sports Management.

“I support his decision and I wish him all the best in his pursuit of a career in professional basketball,” Hobbs said in a news release. Hobbs declined to comment further in a phone interview.

Pinnock is expecting a second child this summer and will make the jump to the professional ranks in order to support his family, The Washington Post reported Friday.

According to NBADraft.net, a Web site that ranks collegiate players’ draft chances, Pinnock is unlikely to be selected in the draft.
