Thorpe and Lasky team up for runoff

Student Association presidential candidate Lamar Thorpe has joined with executive vice presidential candidate Josh Lasky for this week’s runoff election. The union of the two juniors was announced early this week.

Lasky, formerly of the GWUnited slate, ran with SA presidential candidate Elliot Rozenberg, a sophomore who came in third place in the general election. Thorpe, an independent candidate, ran with sophomore Kirk Haldeman, who came in third in the EVP race.

Thorpe said the decision for him and Lasky to run together was an “obvious” one since presidential candidate Morgan Corr and EVP candidate Angela Chang were running together on the Real GW slate. Thorpe and Lasky have posters advertising their new pairing on the walls outside of the Marvin Center.

Thorpe said he has received the help of some former presidential candidates including sophomores Nick D’Addario and Rozenberg. Sophomore Casey Pond, another presidential candidate from last week, is aiding Corr’s campaign.

The second day of voting for SA president and EVP is Thursday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Marvin Center, Law School, Funger Hall, 1957 E St. and Mount Vernon Campus. The results of the election will be announced following the closing of the polls.
