Election postering begins

GW’s equivalent to Spain’s running of the bulls took place early Wednesday morning outside the Marvin Center, as more than 100 students raced from Kogan Plaza to the steps of the H Street building to hang up Student Association campaign posters as the University clock struck 7 a.m.

With the Marvin Center, Academic Center, Funger Hall and University Yard now littered with about 600 campaign posters, most SA candidates and supporters agreed that the election season is now on.

Some students running for the SA – including presidential candidate Morgan Corr and his slate – arrived as early as 6:10 a.m. to line up for postering, with all of the Corr team members wearing bright blue t-shirts.

Elections for the SA, Marvin Center Governing Board and Program Board will be held on Wednesday and Thursday of next week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Joint Elections Committee, which oversees SA elections, will hold its first violation hearing of the election Wednesday night.
