Thursday’s Hatchet will include an article about EVP and SA Presidential candidate Morgan Corr being investigated for giving $2000 from his executive budget to three student organizations. Vice president of judicial and legislative affairs Jeff Goodman is investigating the money transfer because three weeks after the transaction Morgan received the endorsement from one of the groups.
Goodman is also investigating if the transaction was done within the guidelines of the SA bylaws. The rules say that such a transaction has to be approved by the SA Senate Finance Committee, but Morgan’s transaction was never approved by the committee. The finance committee is holding a meeting to vote on the transaction Thursday night.
GW’s Running of the Bulls- SA Postering- commenced Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. More than 100 candidates and supporters ran across H St. to claim prime real estate for their campaign posters.
According to those in attendance, the event went smoothly. Joint Elections Committee officials were on scene looking out for violations and advising candidates on where and how to put posters up.
The JEC will be holding a violation hearing Wednesday night in the Marvin Center. SA Sen. Ben Traverse filed a violation against GW United Campaign adviser Justin Neidig for getting signatures for GW United SA Presidential Candidate Elliot Rozenberg.
