Sigma Chi welcomes 41 members

GW’s newest fraternity held a pinning ceremony last week to officially welcome the 41 men that make up its founding father class.

“It was primarily a symbolic milestone for the organization,” said Dean Harwood, assistant director of the Greek Life. “But it was an important one and it was impressive that they did it with more than 40 guys.”

Sigma Chi is still in its colonization stages and will become officially chartered in about a year, Harwood said. For the organization to become officially chartered it must meet requirements from its national organization, Harwood said, including selection of officers, and educational and social platforms.
