Destruction

3/4 – Thurston Hall – 8:20 p.m. – case closed
UPD officers responded to the report of a small fire in the dormitory. A male student informed an officer who arrived at the scene that he accidentally started the fire by placing a pizza box in the oven. He used a fire extinguisher to combat the flames, but the smoke detector in the room would not stop going off. The student then proceeded to cut the smoke detector wires in the room to stop the alarm. Due to the way he cut the wires, maintenance staff members were unable to repair the smoke detector until later that evening.
Referred to SJS

3/4 – Smith Center – 12:58 a.m. – case closed
