McDonald says he is out for the year
Freshman forward Montrell McDonald said Sunday that he has been suspended for the rest of the 2005-2006 season for an unspecified team violation. In 20 games this season, McDonald averaged 4.4 points per game in 13.1 minutes per game, while providing a strong defensive presence for the sixth-ranked Colonials. McDonald was suspended indefinitely before GW played Richmond Feb. 19.
Head Coach Karl Hobbs has declined to comment on McDonald’s status. During the women’s game against Charlotte Sunday, McDonald sat inconspicuously in the stands with a hood covering his head.
