As a loyal reader – with a sense of humor right in line with the rest of your readers – I want to tell the Hatchet big-whigs how upset it has made me not to see pictures of the posters those crazy kids make to honor Coach Hobbs. The “House that Hobbs Built” was great and it was on your front page. Recent signs, “Hobbzilla” and “WWHD: What Would Hobbs Do?” – a clever take on the popular What would Jesus Do braclets and on the recruiting shirts of a minor on campus frat – have tragically not made your front page and I would like to see better coverage. These enterprising young people have spawned imitations, seen all over at the Richmond game, and should get the attention they so richly deserve.
Thanks Pope. I feel like I may have an idea who you are, yet I’ll still answer the question. The signs in the crowd have little to no news value. While I appreciate your admiration for Jeff Baum’s photo of coach Hobbs on the sideline, it has nothing to do with the basketball being played. Nothing at all.
