The National Gallery of Art’s ice skating rink has been open since mid-November, but now is the best time to go. With the holidays and the end of finals drawing near, skating is a good way to work off that pre-exam stress, or that pizza you ordered at 3 a.m. while you finished your paper. Christmas may not be for everyone. Luckily, there’s Festivus for the rest of us. The popular “Seinfeld” holiday party can be hosted on your own – simply purchase an aluminum pole, some appropriate food and beverages, and send out an Evite to your friends to gather ’round the pole for some feats of strength. Conclude the celebration with the airing of grievances, and tell your friends how incompetent they are.
