A-10 honors

Sophomore Janine Brown was named player of the week for volleyball. Brown had 33 kills in two matches last week, while registering 14 kills and 12 digs against Fordham on Nov. 6 in the Smith Center. She only racked up 14 errors for a hitting percentage of .241 and 26 digs, three block assists and six service aces. In swimming, senior Maggie Moss and freshman David Zenk were named performer and rookie of the week, respectively. Moss finished first in two events in a meet against Howard. She captured the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard medley. Zenk placed first in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke.

Rowing

The women’s varsity eight and varsity four both won in the Head of the Occoquan on the Occoquan Reservoir in Woodbridge, Va. The GW “A” boat won but the “B” boat placed seventh. The racing conditions were said to be perfect, with temperatures in the 70s.
