Beta Bowl raises $1,800 for charity
The Beta Theta Pi fraternity held its fourth Beta Bowl soccer tournament on Sunday to raise money for Martha’s Table, a volunteer organization that assists low-income and homeless children and families in D.C.
“Beta Cup 2005 was a huge success this year,” said Beta Theta Pi President Eric Jesse, a senior, in an e-mail Tuesday. “We raised more money than ever before for Martha’s Table and had the support of nearly every GW sorority.” This year, the event raised $1,800 for Martha’s Kitchen.
Along with the members of Beta Theta Pi, members of seven sororities participated in the tournament. For the second time, the Alpha Phi sorority took home the Beta Cup.
