Baseball

GW turns two this week

Freshman Brian Frazier struck out seven batters and did not give up an earned run in his first collegiate start, as the Colonials beat Old Dominion University 6-3 on Tuesday. Senior Ryan Roberson belted a second inning home run and junior Tom Shanley had a RBI single in the win.

On Wednesday, GW overcame a four-run deficit in the eighth inning to beat James Madison University 8-4 in extra frames. An 11th inning RBI single by GW catcher Andrew Abokhair followed by senior Geoff Milsom’s home run broke a 4-4 tie.

Swimming and Diving

Divers receive A-10 honors

The Atlantic 10 named Katura Horton-Perinchief the Most Outstanding Diver of the Year. The conference also named Head diving coach Krista Irish the Women’s Diving Coach of the Year. Horton-Perinchief won the one and three-meter diving events at the A-10 championship last weekend in Buffalo, NY.

Gymnastics

GW falls to Maryland

The Colonials fell to the Terrapins 192.725-191.725 Wednesday night. GW posted scores of 48.175 on vault, 47. 075 on bars, and 47.825 on beam and a season-high 48.650 on floor.

Junior Erin Aiken earned all-around runner-up honors with a score of 38.425.
