Women’s basketball

McKeown looks to reach milestone

GW women’s basketball coach Joe McKeown looks to reach victory number 425 tonight against St. Joseph’s in Philadelphia and crack the top 50 for all-time wins in Division I college basketball. McKeown currently ranks 15th in all-time career winning percentage (73 percent).

A-10 Shootout

For the fourth consecutive year, the Atlantic 10 conference will be sponsoring the A-10 shootout. The event will take place at the Health and Wellness Center Saturday at 7 p.m. The event consists of two-person teams shooting from different targets around the court.

There are men’s, women’s, and co-ed divisions. The co-ed winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the A-10 Tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio. At the event, there will be giveaways from local restaurants and prizes for every participant.

Baseball

Colonials start off year strong

The GW baseball team opened its season with a 13-3 win over Norfolk State University Wednesday. Junior second baseman Tom Shanley went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the victory.
The Colonials stormed out to a 5-0 lead with five runs in the second inning, and built a 12-0 lead with seven runs in the third.
