Metropolitan Police officers arrested an Ivory Tower resident Monday on suspicion of dealing marijuana and mushrooms.
A Community Living and Learning Center search turned up a substantial amount of marijuana, mushrooms, a scale and a large amount of cash, University Police Chief Dolores Stafford said. Upon finding evidence of drug dealing, UPD contacted the Metropolitan Police to arrest the student.
UPD notified CLLC after receiving a tip through the UPD Web site. CLLC conducted a search of the room and found one student inside.
MPD transported the student to the Second District police station on Idaho Avenue for processing. The marijuana was kept in a Ziplock bag, and Stafford did not know the amount of marijuana recovered because all evidence was handed over to MPD.
